Mani Monday Favorite Nude

Happy Mani Monday!  This weeks theme is our favorite nudes.  Believe it or not I only have three or  four nude polishes in my whole collection!  I love color and I am lucky enough to be able to wear color most  times.  It is always nice to have a couple nudes for the times a bright nail may not be appropriate.  I choose Wet n Wild Megalast in the shade Wet cement.

To me this is a perfect nude and honestly as nude as I would care to go other than maybe a subtle baby pink.  I have tried others colors but them seem to just blend to my natural skin tone to much and give the appearance of plastic hands.  An honorable mention for nudes would be Revlon's Graceful, which is a lighter nude but still works well with my skin tone.  I am wanting to find a nice subtle cream nude.  Any suggestions?  As always please gheck out the Mani Monday's facebook page to see more great picks.  There is also a list of great blogs on my front page of lovely ladies who participate in Mani Mondays!  Happy Mani Monday and Happy painting!

Mani Monday Stripes

Happy Mani Monday!!  This weeks theme is stripes.  Without messing with striping tape I am a one trick pony with stripes.  A solid base color and stripe it with a stripper brush.  I did not have the time to give Mani Monday the time it deserved this week.  We have been cleaning up the mini fall getting ready for fall and putting all these fresh veggies to good use making sauce ect.  My previous mani for the challenge I am doing had a lot of black and man did it stain, so sorry my hands are a bit of a mess.

I only own 2 Julie G polishes.  I do not live near a rite aid and found them at a Big lots.  I believe they are both Christmas polishes.  This ones name has come off but the other one I bought with it is under Mistletoe.  I have been wanting to wear one of them so bad.  I thought this one may work for anytime but clearly doing gold stripes has made my Mani scream Christmas!!!  I adore Christmas and I love the main so Christmas stripes in September it is.  :) Happy Mani Monday and happy painting!!  xoxo Jaime

Mani Monday Fancy French

Today is Mani Monday and this weeks theme is fancy french.  I was not exactly sure what to do for this so I picked my love exquisite dance and decided plan around this polish.  I used this for my delicate day in the 31 day challenge started by chalkboard nails.  Can you tell I am trying to use this polish as many times as I can before I finally give up the light colors until next spring?  I love this pink for the light pink shimmery goodness it contains.

Please excuse the dry skin
The challenge is drying me out!

I used a no name silvery polish underneath exquisite dance to create the tips.  I am not sure how I feel about that choice even though I am happy with this Mani overall.  At first I thought maybe it just gave it a dirty look by not using a brighter shade.  I added little rhinestones for even more sparkle and called it a day. Thanks for stopping by for Mani Monday.  Be sure to head over to Facebook and see Lindsay's Mani Monday page.  I also listed the other girls blogs on my blog homepage.  Happy Mani Monday and Happy painting!

Week two of the 31 day Challenge

I was a bit worried about this week but actually I am happy with all of my designs.  It is nails...it is fun...who cares if they are not perfect!!  :)

Day 8 Metallic

Day 9 Rainbow

Day 10 Gradient

Day 11 Polka dots

Day 12 Stripes

Day 13 Animal print

Day 14 Flowers

Day 15 Delicate

I am trying to mix it up and reach for different color combos and even some untried polishes throughout the challenge.  I wanted to put the sinful colors aside and go to some different polishes which is hard for me. Sinful Colors is my go to no fail drugstore polish.  Day 15 features my all time favorite sheer pink polish.  This is my second bottle of Exquisite dance and it is so soft and shimmery I can not help but gravitate to it.  I believe it will also be making an appearance in tomorrows Mani Monday look.  Day 10 is a favorite look for me this week.  It does use 2 sinful colors polishes along with the Nicole by OPI.  Pink and glittery.  I love all colors when it comes to Manicures but Pink is my signature color.  I know these weekly posts are pretty picture heavy and light on words.  Once the 31 Day challenge is complete I plan on getting back to posting about specific colors and my thoughts on them, swatching new colors and also I do like nail art and plan to keep practicing and sharing the outcomes.  Thanks for reading and have a good week.  Happy painting!!

Apology to my readers

I have been posting several of my blog posts from the blogger app and have not taken the time to go on a laptop and look at the blog in 2 weeks.  I want to apologize for the absurdly large photos.  I am not sure why they are so big when posted from the app on my phone.  I am working on going back and editing all the posts with a more viewer friendly size of photos.  Thank you for still reading even with obnoxious photo sizes!! xoxo Jaime

Mani Monday favorite red

Believe it in not this week was harder for me than a week requiring nail art!  I always have a hard time with red Manicures for some reason.  It usually ends up being one hot mess.  It seems like I always flood my cuticles with reds or application ends up patchy.  I only own maybe 5 reds.  The one that I have the best luck with is Sugar sugar by Sinful colors.  It is a pretty red that has a nice shimmer to it as well.  The next best thing to glitter is shimmer, am I right girls?  Happy Mani Monday and happy painting!!!

Week one of the 31 day challenge

This week has been a lot of fun for me and yet a little frustrating as well.  I have had nail polish problems.  :) Which color? What to put with it to make it art?  Who is going to like these?
I guess it is harder than I thought being new to the IG nail community and wanting to make friends with those who love polish as much as I do and going into uncharted nail art territory all at the same time.  I have said it before I am nail art challenged and a big believer and fan of drug store polish.  So I feel some days are not up to par at all!  I do think i have improved my lighting to get clearer pictures. Its fun and I love it but next week some more challenging things are coming....yikes!!!  A big shout out to Kathleen for always having a kind word!!
Here are this weeks looks.  Thanks for looking and thanks for following me if you are here from Instagram.  Happy painting!!

Mani Monday's goes Back to School

It's Mani Monday!!  This weeks theme is back to school.  Orginally I thought about doinf the chalkboard look with ABCs and 123s.  I have sewn mani of these manicures going around so I decided to go in thw direction of highschool nails.  I used my highschool colors. A navy blue a Carolina blue and silver. One of my favorite things about returning to highschool each year was Home coming and all of the festivities.  The floats for the parade, football and getting all dressed up for the homecoming  dance will always have special memories for me.  I chose to use sally Hansen Insta-dri in Quick-jeanius, Wet &wild wild shine in Teal slowly and See and Pure Ice in Beware.   I added three rinestones on my ring finger.  These colors were the closest match to my school colors. Be sure to stop by the Mani Monday's Facebook page to see what the other ladies are wearing today!  I hope you enjoy this Mani!!  Happy Painting!!
