Spring Thaw Pastel

I am really enjoying working with all of these spring colors.  We had a nice day in the 60s but the weather has remained quite chilly for the most part.  As I write this it is 16 degrees.  Winter is trying to hold on this year!    Today's challenge is Pastel.  I think I used all of my true pastel polishes in the last challenge.  I did not realize I was so short on pastels because I love them!!!  I looked and I looked through my collections and then decided to go with an untried for my main color and build on that.  I pulled out Zoya Julie.  Julie is a lavender with shimmer.  I think it has a nice blue undertone.

I had a hard time capturing this one very color accurate, but it is close.  For my little rose attempt I used two sinful shine polishes in Yours Truely and Sailors delight.  For the green leaves I pulled out my Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet again. I added some little minty pearl accents and called it a done.  I like it.

Up next will be rain and I am not sure where to go with that!  I must think ahead for that one!  Thank you for stopping by and Happy polishing!  xoxo Jaime

Spring Thaw Spring Dotticure

Happy First day of SPRING!!!  I am so happy it is finally Spring.  I love winter and snow and all the magic that comes with that season but I am so ready for flowers, spring breezes and getting my garden started with spring vegetables.

I just love today's challenge, a dotticure!!  I love polka dots and especially love them on my nails.  Even though our next challenge is pastel I decided to take my spring dotticure in a pastel direction.  I have a pretty pastel blue sweater I am going to wear today as it will be in the mid 50s.  I thought these nails would go lovely with it!

I had a hard time capturing my matte pastel dotticure or at least the blue dots so I included a close up.  There is a kitty cat hair on the white dot on the right!!!  Oh the trouble with kitties joining me in my girlie cave!  Luckily it was not painted on and was just in my pictures.  For my base I used Mint Sorbet from Sally Hansen x-treme wear.  It took 3 coats to even out but it is my favorite mint green polish that I have.  My pink polka dots are Barielle Gel-ous Lover, the white dots are Broadway Nails Snow white and the blue dots are China Glaze At Vase Value.  I am really enjoying my combination and it makes me feel like spring!!!  Thanks for coming by and Happy polishing!!  If you decide to do any Spring Thaw manicures please tag them #springnorules on Instagram or leave me your blog address below.

Spring No Rules Green!!

Happy Monday!  Today starts Spring No Rules nail challenge.  Our first challenge is green.  Perfectly appropriate for St. Patrick's Day!!!  I recently picked up some Pure Ice polishes I thought were perfect for this time of year.  This beautiful shimmering green is Lucky Charming.  It is so shimmery it almost glows on the nails.  I paired it with a lovely golden micro glitter polish called Studette on my ring finger and thumb.  I really like this combo and for $2 a polish Pure ice has some cute shades!

Be sure to check out my girls who are also hosting this challenge on their blogs and Instagram!  Marianne‚ Anca‚ Lu and Jaimie!

Glitter Lambs Indie Polish!

 Press Sample

Hello friends!  I am excited to tell you about Glitter Lambs Indie polish brand.  Glitter Lambs are a mother daughter team who make glitter toppers.  Jamie and Kara have been creating their polishes since September 2013. They are based in the US and do ship Internationally.  They have a wide variety of glitter combinations!  Something for everyone!  I have three polishes for review.  All photos are ONE coat of the glitter polish over my choice of colored bases and topped with Seche Vite topcoat.

First we have Pastel Macaroons.  This baby just says spring to me!  There are baby blue, yellow, green and peach hexes along side pink and white dots in a clear base. The smaller white glitters have a holographic flash to them! Glitter Lambs has a thick formula which helps the polish just cling to the brush.  Pastel Macaroons was super easy to work!  No fishing here!

Next we have Kawaii Bake Sale.

Kawaii Bake sale just looks so magical!  There are blue hex glitters, Pink dots, white dots, white holographic glitters that shift to a blue and white holographic that shift to pink all in a clear base.  Kawaii Bake Sale has the same glitter grabbing formula.  I really think the possibilities for undies are endless with this one.  I chose to use a deep purple and I must say I love the effect!!!  I can never get enough sparkly glitter over a dark base!

Last but certainly not least I have Candy Bracelet to show you!

Candy Bracelet has light blue Hex glitter, Pink dots, white dots and is filled with white flakies in a clear base!  The formula on this one is a little thicker than the other two due to the jam packed amount of flakies in there!  It is a good formula in my opinion.  Very workable and it pulls out all those dots and flakies very easily!  I decided to take my swatch of this totally to the sweet side!!

I used two coats of my topcoat to make my nails smooth to the touch on Candy Bracelet.  There was NOT any curling of the flakies or any poking up through the topcoat, it just felt slightly textured with one coat of topcoat.

The verdict on Glitter Lambs....They get a big thumbs up from me!  Though these were press samples I have purchased from them before and both times shipping was super fast and the polishes were packaged securely.   Jamie from Glitter Lambs is a sweetheart and is very eager  to answer any questions you may have!  You can find Glitter Lambs on Instagram Here and their polish is sold on Etsy Here.  Thank you for coming by and Happy Polishing!!!!  xoxo Jaime
